Encouraging educational excellence has long been a focus of the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce. Modeled loosely after the STAR Program, the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce recognizes students in the middle school grades who have maintained all A’s on their report cards throughout the school year. Students are treated to a luncheon away from school a gift sponsored by a Chamber-member business, professional or organization.
The 2016 Rising Star program will be held at Roberts’ Chapel at the State Offices South Tift Campus on May 6, 2016. This year 83 students and 3 teachers will be honored. We could not offer this wonderful program without our event sponsors Oglethorpe Power,Central Georgia EMC, and Southern Rivers Energy. We are also grateful to our various business owners that support the student(s) and teacher(s) through a sponsorship. Be sure to check back as we will acknowledge them after the program.
