    Event Description:
    The Monroe County Historical Society invites the community to join us for our March program, Preserving Family Collections, featuring guest speaker David Owings, Head of Archives and Special Collections at Columbus State University. Owings will share practical, accessible techniques that anyone can use at home to safeguard cherished family photographs, documents, textiles, and heirlooms—ensuring these treasures endure for future generations. The program will be held March 2, 2026, at 7 PM in the Conley Building, located at 126 E Johnston St, Forsyth. This event is free and open to the public. We welcome all who are interested in learning how to better care for their personal and family histories. This project is supported by Georgia Humanities, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, through funding from the Georgia General Assembly.
