Scholarship Information

The Forsyth-Monroe Chamber Foundation was created to engage, educate, enrich, and empower the citizens of Forsyth and Monroe County through programs aimed at providing opportunities which otherwise would not be available. These programs are beneficial in retaining our youth and educating the next generation of our leaders. The Forsyth-Monroe Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce it will offer TWO $1000 scholarships,

Eligibility

• Must be a legal resident of Monroe County, Georgia • Must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution • A candidate for graduation from Mary Persons High School with a minimum of 3.0 GPA (or) • Recently graduated from Mary Persons High School in the past 2 years with a minimum of 3.0 GPA (or) • Received a GED in the past 2 years with a designation of College Ready (165 or above)
Application Requirements
• The candidate will submit an essay on “What is your career goal and how will you use it to enrich your community?” and answer 2 additional questions. • No fewer than 2 letters of recommendation from the candidate’s teacher(s) and/or counselor(s).
Procedure
• All questions must be answered completely.
• Scholarship announcements will be presented at Mary Persons Honors Ceremony (TBD). The attached application and two (2) letters of recommendation from your teacher(s) and/or counselor(s) must be submitted no later than April 24, 2026.
• Include a copy of your High School Transcript or GED Transcript.

Education Postponement
If the winner chooses to postpone his/her college education, the scholarship may be reserved for up to one year from the date of graduation.
