2026 Beekeeping Essay Contest – “The Power of Pollen!” 🐝

Calling all 4th–12th grade 4-H’ers!

Showcase your knowledge of bees and pollen by entering this year’s essay contest.

Explore questions like: How is pollen important to bees? Are changes in plants affecting them? When do you observe the most and least pollen in your colonies, and how does that impact their behavior?
 

Prizes: State-level cash awards: 1st – $250 | 2nd – $100 | 3rd – $50.

First-place essays will advance to the national competition for additional recognition.

Essay Guidelines: Essays must be typed, 750–1,000 words, double-spaced, and follow all submission rules.
