We live in a wonderful community, one where people come together to support each other through difficult times.  When the cry for help is heard, folks in Monroe County do everything they can to pitch in.  My friends, it's time to do what we do best.  Once again, we need to focus on ways to help our local businesses survive this uncertain period surrounding COVID-19 and social distancing recommendations.

You may ask yourself, what can I do?  I'm just one person.  For starters, don't panic! We're going to get through this.  Use precautions when you go out in public and limit your gathering size.  Wash your hands regularly and cover your cough.

Another way to help is supporting your local businesses.  It's simple, order take-out, buy gift cards and shop online.  You can do all of these while still practicing social distancing. The business owners will appreciate your support.

Perhaps the biggest way you can support local business is by donating to those that cannot close.  Many businesses, especially those in the service industry, are in need of supplies to continue operating during these uncertain times. They are asking for help from businesses who have closed due to social distancing recommendations. Specifically they are looking for cleaning supplies, paper products, baby wipes, diapers, adult diapers and hand sanitizer.  If your business is closed, and you have extra supplies, click here.

And finally, don't be afraid to ask for help.  If your business remains open, and you need supplies, click here.  We will not publicly post that you are running low, but we will work behind the scenes to make sure you get what you need.

Our community is  truly remarkable.  We are family.  I have no doubt that we will do everything possible to ensure that we remain strong long after the COVID-19 threat is over.
